ABOUT MCMC

A Book. A Podcast. A Movement.

What started with a book written by Abhishake De Sarkar is now growing into a movement built around one powerful idea — helping people discover their potential and make informed choices about their future.

The journey began with My Career My Choice, followed by the MCMC Podcast, where inspiring people shared their stories, choices, failures, struggles and journeys.

A conversation became a community.
And the community became a movement.

MCMC PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT

It Starts With Understanding You

Before deciding what you should become, it is important to understand who you are.

The MCMC Personality Assessment helps you understand your personality, strengths, preferences and natural abilities — giving you a clearer foundation for making confident career decisions.

MAKE AN IMPACT

One life changed can change many lives

Every year, thousands of young people stand at a crossroads—confused about what to study, which career to choose, or whether they are capable of achieving their dreams.

Sometimes, all they need is someone who listens.

Someone who asks the right questions.

Someone who sees potential where they see confusion.

Someone who helps them make a better-informed choice.

That person can be you.

MCMC was born from a simple belief: career counselling is not just about choosing a profession. It is about helping people discover who they are and what they can become. One student guided towards the right path can become a confident professional.

That professional can support a family.

That family can inspire another generation.

The impact doesn’t stop with one person.

We are building a community of Career Coaches who believe that success is not measured only by how many people we counsel, but by how many lives we positively influence.

Join MCMC. Get trained. Get certified. Get empaneled. Support students. And become part of a movement where your knowledge, experience and compassion can create a ripple of change.

Don’t just choose a career. Choose to make an impact.

Become an MCMC Career Coach. One conversation can change a life.

The Student Who Wanted to Become a Doctor — But Never Wanted to Be One

Case Study:

A high-performing Class 10 student is determined to become a doctor because his parents believe it is the only respectable career for him. His marks are excellent, but his interests, personality and aspirations point elsewhere.

What a Career Coach learns:

Don't ask, “What career should this student choose?” Ask, “Whose dream is this?”

Key lesson:

A Career Coach should help students separate their own aspirations from parental expectations, social status and peer pressure.

02

The Girl Who Thought She Was Average

Case Study:

A Class 12 student believes she is not talented because she isn't among the top students in her class. During counselling, her strengths in communication, empathy, creativity and leadership emerge.

What a Career Coach learns:

Marks measure academic performance. They do not define the complete potential of a person.

Key lesson:

Sometimes the first job of a Career Coach is not to find a career — it is to restore a student's belief in themselves.

03

Engineering Was His Choice. Or Was It?

Case Study:

A student wants to study engineering because “everyone in my school is taking Science.” His real interests are filmmaking, storytelling and digital media.

What a Career Coach learns:

Herd mentality can look like ambition. A coach must explore why a student wants a particular career before helping them decide how to pursue it.

Key lesson:

Never confuse popularity with suitability.

The Daughter Who Was Afraid to Disappoint Her Parents

Case Study:

A talented student wants to pursue design, while her parents want her to pursue medicine. She is afraid that choosing differently will be seen as failure.

What a Career Coach learns:

Career counselling is sometimes a conversation between three people — the student, the parent and the future they imagine.

Key lesson:

A good Career Coach doesn't fight parents. They help parents understand their child's potential.

05

The Student Who Had Too Many Choices

Case Study:

A bright graduate has options in an MBA, a job, entrepreneurship and studying abroad. He researches endlessly but cannot make a decision.

What a Career Coach learns:

More information does not always create more clarity. A structured process of self-understanding → options → evaluation → decision → action can transform confusion into direction.

Key lesson:

Sometimes the coach's greatest contribution is helping a person eliminate choices — not create more.

06

She Failed an Entrance Exam. She Didn't Fail in Life.

Case Study:

A student fails a competitive entrance examination after preparing for two years. She believes her life is over.

What a Career Coach learns:

Failure can close one door without closing a person's future.

Key lesson:

Don't counsel the result. Counsel the person behind the result.

Student reflecting after an academic setback
07

The First-Generation Student

Case Study:

A student is the first person in her family to attend university. Her parents want her to take the safest available career, but she has ambitions they don't understand.

What a Career Coach learns:

Not every student has access to family networks, professional role models or career information.

Key lesson:

A Career Coach can become the bridge between potential and opportunity.

08

The Successful Professional Who Wasn't Happy

Case Study:

A 35-year-old professional has a good salary, a respectable position and a successful career on paper — but wakes up every morning feeling disconnected from the work.

What a Career Coach learns:

Career counselling isn't only for teenagers. Sometimes the question is not “What should I become?” but “Why am I no longer fulfilled?”

Key lesson:

Career development is a lifelong journey.

Professional reflecting on career
09

The Student Who Said, “I Don't Know What I Want.”

Case Study:

A Class 11 student repeatedly answers every career question with “I don't know.” Instead of immediately recommending careers, the coach begins with questions about childhood experiences, confidence, curiosity and interests.

What a Career Coach learns:

“I don't know” is not the end of the conversation. It may be the beginning of discovery.

Key lesson:

Before helping someone choose a destination, help them understand their story.

Student thinking about future

The Career Coach Who Changed One Life

Case Study:

A young Career Coach meets a student who has lost confidence in herself after repeated academic setbacks. Instead of giving her a list of careers, the coach listens, asks questions, identifies her strengths and helps her create a realistic plan.

What a Career Coach learns:

A career coach doesn't live the student's life for them. A coach doesn't make the decision for them.

Key lesson:

A coach helps them see themselves clearly enough to make their own informed decision.

The MCMC Philosophy

One conversation can change a decision. One decision can change a career. One career can change a family. And one changed family can change a generation.

Learn. Listen. Guide. Impact.

Community & Events

Learn. Connect. Grow. Impact.

The MCMC Community is built on a simple belief: sometimes a student doesn't need an answer first—they need someone who notices that they are struggling.

MCMC Community Care Officers

Our MCMC Community Care Officers work alongside Career Coaches as the first point of human connection. Like a compounder or nurse in a healthcare setting, they may not diagnose or prescribe, but they listen, observe, understand the student's immediate needs and help connect them with the right person, resource or professional support.

Every Impact Deserves Recognition

We celebrate an MCMC volunteer who noticed that a child was struggling emotionally, took the time to listen, stayed connected and helped the child reach the appropriate support. The volunteer didn't try to be a psychologist. They didn't pretend to have all the answers. They simply cared enough to notice.

How We Create a Caring Community

Listen

Give students the space to express what they are going through.

Understand

Notice their immediate academic, emotional, social or practical needs.

Connect

Connect the student with the right person, resource or professional.

Support

Stay connected and help ensure that the student does not feel alone.

Join the MCMC Community

Volunteer. Listen. Connect. Support. Create an impact.
You may not change the whole world.

But you may change the world of one student. Be the Change.
